Manage Your Bills Online For Free

Although I already do this online using online banking, BillQ offers a way to manage bills online.

billQ is a new web-based application that gives you an easy way to keep track of your bills. With billQ, you can make sure you always know exactly what you have to pay, and when you have to pay it.

You can also set up groups. This is useful if you have related bills or if you have multiple people paying a bill. A good example would be setting up a group so all of your roommates can split rent.

I would imagine most people using the internet to track bills and what not would just do it through online banking, though it seems to be a good way for groups of people to track bills (ie, maybe a planned trip, shared housing, some sort of club, etc).

Although I tried BillQ for a while, when I moved into my new shared house they were all using Billster (http://www.billster.net/) and I have to say that it’s a nicer looking site, lacks the import functionality but seeing as the bills were already setup by the current bill payers, it didn’t matter.

I have been using BillQ for a while, but when I moved into new shared housing last month, the guys I moved in with were using Billster (http://www.billster.net/) to mange their bills. I have to say that it’s a better looking site and I’m pleased I made the change, even though it was forced upon me :)
Billster does lack the import functionality, but after a quick chat with one of the developers called Tristan (using the cool Meebo chat window), he informed me that import and export was currently under development. Didn’t matter at the time though, as the bills had been added for me…

After using both, I’m sticking with The Bill Manager (http://www.thebillmanager.com). I’ve used both BillQ, Billster and a few others and I have to say — The Bill Manager is the most straight forward. Plus, I know they have some pretty cool features slated for release. I highly recommend these guys.
